About Clay

Clay Yarborough grew up in District 12, is a product of local public schools, and graduated from UNF with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. During college, he worked at UPS as a truck loader and was later promoted into the company’s Human Resources Department. In his role as an HR Supervisor, Clay personally hired over 1,800 people into jobs in Jacksonville. After 15 years with UPS, Clay accepted a position with First Coast Manufacturers Association as Business Development Manager and now works to strengthen our region’s manufacturing base and increase the number of good-paying jobs available to our residents.

Clay loves our city and served eight years on the Jacksonville City Council, his final year as President of the 19-member body. After serving at the local level, he pursued a seat in the State Legislature, was elected, and currently serves in the Florida House representing Jacksonville’s Southside and Fort Caroline areas. The son of a public educator, Clay’s priorities include making our schools and city as safe as possible, supporting economic growth and development (including for our port), working on proactive transportation solutions, and fighting for family values.

Clay and his wife, Jordan, have twin seven-year old sons, a three-year-old son, and welcomed their fourth son in January 2019.

Solid Record as
State Representative

Clay has supported balanced State budgets and consistently voted in favor of measures that will improve the quality of life for Jacksonville residents.
